GO BABY GO GREECE

Once again, ELEPAP Athens was a pioneer. On November 3, 2018 in collaboration with Go Baby Go Israel, we organized the 1st Workshop in Greece where the 4 first cars were also delivered, bringing smiles to both children and their families.

The Go Baby Go programme, is based on the idea of James C. Galloway, PHD, FAPTA, and started at the University of Delaware, USA, about 20 years ago. It has now spread to more than 30 locations in the US while it recently travelled abroad. The objective is to adapt the electric vehicles so that they can be used by those who are not able to move independently, thus providing them with an incentive to move around, to become more sociable and participate in activities.

We started the Go Baby Go Greece aiming at giving to all the children who need it, the invaluable opportunity and joy of independent mobility.
The children are trained to move independently while they play.

The ELEPAP volunteer physical therapists and occupational therapists were trained by the physical therapists of Go Baby Go Israel on the adaptations required for the small vehicles. The programme will be headed by Dr. Eleni Skouteli, Child Neurologist and head of the ELEPAP Infants Centre.

The programme was financed from donations in memory of Andreas Georgakopoulos.
